Old Quito has regained its luster, with so many ways to mix luxuries à la Casa Gangotena with simple pleasures. The hotel can arrange for a Live Quito Like a Local tour that takes in visits to artisans, sweets makers, and even a traditional miller in the San Roque area.

The three-story Renaissance-inspired structure, originally built as a home in 1534, combines neoclassical elements with modern custom-made furniture, and its rooftop terrace offers wrap-around views of Quito’s Old Town.

This is the prettiest part of the city and the hotel is easy walking distance from sights such as the gilt Jesuit church of La Compañía, Museo de la Ciudad and the Franciscan monastery as well as excellent restaurants.

Superior OldTown Quito Hotel
High end hotel in the center of old town Quito overlooking the plaza. Neighboring the cathedral and one block away from the archeological museum. Service and decor are exceptional. Not sure if there is a better place to stay in Quito with turndown service alfresco bar and a formal dining room without a dress code.

Fantastic hotel
We stayed for 6 days in this wonderful hotel. The location is excellent in the old centre with everything in walking distance. The room had a view on Plaza San Francisco and was spacious, luxury and very complete. The breakfast is the best buffet ever and the staff is fantastic, especially Freddie, Bladimir, Rene and Angelo. Thanks for a fantastic stay. We will be back.

An oasis in the Old Town
Exceeded expectations! The warm reception and welcome drink set the tone after a long travel day. Our junior suite with balcony was spacious, well-equipped, and offered lovely views, despite not using the balcony due to weather. We enjoyed the rooftop terrace with stunning views, perfect Tapis, and friendly service. The food was excellent, and the staff consistently kind and efficient. Highly recommended!

Beautiful hotel in the old town.
A beautifully maintained and renovated old hotel in a great position in the old town of Quito. The service was faultless but the price for an average sized room including breakfast was very expensive for accommodation in Quito. The breakfast was also very good.

Old Fashioned Luxury in the Old Town
Beautiful hotel in Quito’s Old Town, perfect as a base for exploring. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and luxurious, with cozy beds for restful nights. The restaurant’s empanadas are a must-try. Attentive staff ensured everything was seamless. Evening views from the rooftop terrace were stunning, with heaters and blankets provided for extra comfort. Excellent location near the Cathedral. Absolutely worth it!
