Our commitment
Casa Gangotena’s commitment goes beyond hospitality. As part of Metropolitan Touring — South America’s first carbon-neutral tour operator — every stay is carbon neutral, offset through Fundación Futuro’s conservation programs. We are proud to be recognized with 1 MICHELIN Key in 2025. As a good neighbor in Quito’s Historic Center, we support 30 local entrepreneurs through training and mentorship programs, and work alongside De Vuelta al Centro, Unidos por la Educación, and Fundación Sembrar to strengthen community ties. We have also planted 20,000 native flowers and trees to beautify the Historic Center. Staying with us means being part of something larger — a commitment to people, heritage, and the future of our city.
Since 2017, every stay at Casa Gangotena is carbon neutral. In 2025, we measured and verified 15,287 tCO₂e across all Metropolitan Touring operations — certified by SGS under INTE/ISO 14064-1:2019 — and offset through Fundación Futuro’s conservation programs. Casa Gangotena contributed 232.7 tCO₂e, with emissions stemming from electricity and LPG consumption, waste, transport, and business travel — all fully offset as part of our carbon neutral commitment.
