At our restaurant, we offer a delightful range of dining experiences, including breakfast, lunch, Cafe Quiteño (our version of “high tea”), and dinner.

Rooftop Terrace

The third-floor panoramic terrace offers romantic, panoramic views of Quito’s historic cityscape, providing the perfect backdrop for tea, coffee, cocktails, or vintage wine. Spot iconic churches like Santa Clara, La Merced, San Agustin, Santo Domingo, La Compañia, and the neo-Gothic Basilica in Quito’s Old Town. And if luck favors you, you might even catch a glimpse of the distant, snow-capped Cayambe volcano to the northeast!

The Garden

Escape the bustling city and find solace at our walled garden—a tranquil sanctuary. Here, you can unwind, savor a cup of tea or an ice-cold beer, and simply contemplate life. Embrace the serene ambiance amidst native trees, plants, and blooming flowers, as the gentle sound of the burbling stone fountain soothes your soul.

VIP Salon

The VIP Salon once served as the ballroom of the Gangotena family. It has now been renovated to serve as the perfect space for intimate dinners or small celebrations. Whether it’s a memorable wedding reception, educational lecture, or a productive meeting, this exquisite space can accommodate up to 25 people.

The Bar

A haven for sophisticated travelers, offering relaxation amidst leather chairs, comfortable banquettes, wood paneling, and captivating oil paintings. Discover secluded nooks, light-filled window seats, or take a load off at the noble wooden bar to savor an Old Fashioned or our specialty cocktails, skillfully crafted by our bar staff. Casa Gangotena’s cocina mestiza celebrates Ecuador’s diverse culinary heritage, fusing indigenous, Spanish, and global influences for a tantalizing gastronomic journey.

Colada Morada and Guaguas de Pan

During the Day of the Dead celebrations, visitors can savor colada morada, a spiced purple drink made from Andean blackberries. Enjoy it with guaguas de pan—sweet bread figurines shaped like babies—for a delightful celebration. Please be aware that these are seasonal items that are only available during the months of October and November.

Cafe Quiteño

This classic Quiteño equivalent to British “High Tea” is served at the tables or sofas of our orchid- and flower-filled patio. Indulge in a selection of premium Ecuadorian coffees, herbal and floral infusions crafted with fresh garden ingredients, and savor exquisite pastries and sandwiches.

The Best Fanesca in Quito

Our restaurant offers the best fanesca in Quito due to its meticulous preparation, organic ingredients, and our dedication to preserving the traditional flavors of this cherished Ecuadorian dish. Please be aware that this is a seasonal specialty that’s only available from March to April.

Old Quito has regained its luster, with so many ways to mix luxuries à la Casa Gangotena with simple pleasures. The hotel can arrange for a Live Quito Like a Local tour that takes in visits to artisans, sweets makers, and even a traditional miller in the San Roque area.

The hotel is known among business clientele for its wonderful afternoon tea, which is served either in the restaurant or in a quiet internal patio facing the garden. Some of the tea infusions are made with fresh herbs from the orchard and there is also a blend of Ecuadorian coffee roasted exclusively for the hotel.

The three-story Renaissance-inspired structure, originally built as a home in 1534, combines neoclassical elements with modern custom-made furniture, and its rooftop terrace offers wrap-around views of Quito’s Old Town.
