Celebration of Flavours
From the stately decoration, distinguished yet relaxed atmosphere, great views of Plaza San Francisco or the colonial Cuenca Street, innovative and superb gastronomy and top-notch international quality service, our Awarded Cedron Restaurant offers to its guests a unique, different and special, altogether memorable dining experience.
The cuisine at Casa Gangotena’s Cedron Restaurant is a Celebration in honor of Ecuador’s typical cuisine, upgraded to the finest status of creativeness and a flair-filled blend of traditional and modern, a superb alchemy of ingredients, textures, aromas and flavors. Inspired in a trilogy of seasonings, infusions and spice mixes, all coming from our backyard, we present Ecuadorian cuisine in a refined manner. The Menu of Cedron is the result of a gastronomic evolution process which has matured into a unique culinary proposal, which is our current offer. We firmly believe in our cuisine’s inheritance, its roots and the techniques and know-how that we have acquired throughout this evolution.
We are proud to be able to offer flavors that vary from the Highlands all the way to the Pacific Coast, reflecting on the amazing variety of ingredients (always the best and the freshest), as well as original recipes and cooking techniques that result in a feast for the palate. Our main goal is to please our guests’ palates, minds and senses.
Casa Gangotena features more than 100 labels of fine wines carefully selected by art connoisseur’s Sommeliers. We suggest that if you want to talk about wine, please call our Executive Chef, who as a passionate wine expert, will be happy to recommend the perfect pairing for your meal.
We cordially invite you to embrace life and share with passion the experience of Ecuadorian hospitality and fine gastronomy at Casa Gangotena’s Cedron Restaurant.
Afternoon Tea Time
This is a classic of Quito’s inhabitants, the local equivalent of the famed English “High Tea”. The “Quiteño” tradition of getting together in the late afternoon, at the end of a working day to enjoy a cup of coffee or hot chocolate with a sandwich or typical snack has been revived by Casa Gangotena to invite its Hotel guests as well as visitors from the city to enjoy this lively tradition. The Quiteño Afternoon Coffee is offered either at the glass-covered patio or at the Bar.
Ecuador is a producer of high quality coffee and Casa Gangotena offers some of the best in diverse presentations. Our tea varieties and infusions made with fresh herbs picked up directly from our garden are also tempting choices. The Hotel’s 'Agua de frescos' is an infusion of the southern Ecuadorian highlands which combines a dozen herbs, leaves and flower petals that energize and refresh you.
All these flavors are accompanied by delicious appetizers such as: local types of empanadas, scones, mini sandwiches and a fine selection of sweet snacks made daily by our exclusive pastry chefs.
